Vision, resources and, above all, internal capabilities. These are the aspects that have allowed us to grow and present ourselves as a reference point in the recovery of precious metals, such as gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium and ruthenium.

We operate by processing production waste from very different market sectors, from the gold working sector to the galvanic industry, from dental laboratories to the biomedical sector, to all those areas which envisage the use, and therefore also the indirect waste, of precious metals. Today we feel we can combine the versatility of a specialized and flexible company with an in-depth knowledge of complex and delicate processes. Over time we have proved ourselves with case histories of varying complexity that have allowed us to grow, improve and perfect workflows that have now been tested in numerous market contexts.

Today we have our own factory where we carry out incineration, grinding and metallurgical smelting treatments. With a clear and transparent scheme, all the materials handled remain the property of the supplier who is always free to assist in all processing stages. Each work order is completed with a report certifying each step performed and a payment proposal for the purchase of the materials recovered. Valmet REFINING is part of the VALMET SPA group, which includes the PLATING and ECOLOGY divisions.

SUSTAINABILITY ENVIRONMENT & SECURITY

In recent years, a generalised attitude of protection for the wellbeing of people and the environment, for product safety and a development that is based not only on economic aspects but also on respect for people and the environment has become increasingly clear.

This approach has also been reflected at Valmet, where the use of all chemicals that may be hazardous to people’s health or the environment has been progressively reduced.
Beyond industry regulations, the company’s philosophy has made sustainability – authentic sustainability – a cornerstone. The company’s aim has always been to go beyond the phenomenon of Green Washing (environmentalism as an element of marketing rather than substance) and instead usher in real dynamics of sustainability, control and safety. This vision has resulted in a comprehensive review of workflows, laboratory research objectives and the selection of products or semi-finished products where necessary. This is how the international list of restricted substances – Manufacturing Restricted Substances List or MRSL – came into being, whose purpose is to usher in real dynamics of sustainability, control and safety instead.

The result of the process initiated in this sense now leads fashion houses, or their direct suppliers, to turn to Valmet to obtain analyses certifying compliance with the restrictions imposed by the MRSL or PRSL (Product Restricted Substances List).
These are often particularly complex evaluations, necessary to truly guarantee the correctness of processes and workmanship, which, increasingly, are a discriminating factor in gaining new market shares regardless of the target segment.
